Bullring is Birmingham's newest shopping destination. Built at a cost of over £500 million, it brings over 160 shops, boutiques and restaurants. The Bullring is home to the hugely successful Selfridges, whose stunningly unique design is based on an Armani chain mail dress and has become an instant visual icon of Birmingham.
On the other side of the city centre is the lavish Mailbox building which houses designer stores, boutiques and restaurants.
Arts & culture

Symphony Hall is widely regarded as the finest concert hall in Europe that’s why the acclaimed CBSO love it, as do the crowds. The CBSO (The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra) is the resident orchestra of Symphony Hall, Birmingham, and is one of the world's leading symphonic ensembles.
It’s the same with the dazzling Theatre, The Birmingham Hippodrome a £35million investment. It’s the UK’s busiest theatre which helped lure Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet to become the Birmingham Royal Ballet.
The Midland Arts Centre, in Cannon Hill Park, stages a more eclectic range of theatrical events and films as well as workshops and exhibitions.
The city has some of the finest art galleries in the country, including the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, with the world's leading collection of Pre-Raphaelite art; the Barber Institute of Fine Art, with an outstanding collection of renaissance and impressionist art; and the Ikon Gallery with its stunning contemporary work.
Nightlife
Compared to any major European city, Birmingham has a thriving night scene with fantastic nightclubs and bars.
From the mainstream bustle of Broad Street to the underground scene in Digbeth and the laid-back bars in student-friendly Selly Oak or bohemian Moseley. Check out iconic club nights at Gatecrasher and Godskitchen, and renowned venues Air, The Sanctuary and Factory Club at the Custard Factory - as well as dozens of cheap and cheerful events around the city. Plenty of bars draw a more mature crowd too, from big name chains like All Bar One and the sophisticated Living Room to hundreds of friendly local pubs.
Many of the night clubs and pubs are located on Broad Street, the city centre. At weekends Birmingham is buzzing and especially the Broad Street, with best of night clubs in the city. The most popular night clubs in Birmingham include Revolution, the Australian Bar, So-Bar and the Works. Brindley place is another exciting night club in Birmingham. Just off Broad Street, this canal side development welcomes visitors and locals with hi-fi restaurants and bars on a scenic, waterfront location.
Broad Street is well known for being the centre of the nightlife action but it's also worth venturing to The Arcadian and the stylish bars of The Mailbox.
Eating Out
Birmingham’s eating scene is a cosmopolitan experience; you can sample the best food from countries around the world with over 500 hundred restaurants, pubs and bars in the city centre offering a range of taste from worldwide.
It’s foodie heaven. Whether you’re looking for Michelin stars or a quick enjoyable bite, feast on a riot of choice to suit every pocket.
Birmingham's China Town has a choice of restaurants, supermarkets and cafes offering great Chinese food.
Balti is a popular food introduced to the region by Birmingham's large Pakistani and Kashmiri communities around 1976. The majority of Balti houses are situated in the Sparkbrook, Balsall Heath and Moseley areas of South Birmingham, which essentially forms the famous "Balti Triangle". The Balti Triangle features a vast array of Eastern restaurants, over 50 in total, ranging from the cheap and cheerful takeaway to the smarter upmarket establishments.
